Australian idol - what band did that guy belong to?

On channel Ten, 24th August, the last performance on Australian idol before the show ended. What band did the guy that sung last belong to? (the guy who previously had dreadlocks, and now has his hair shaven. He got something removed from his thoat, so he couldnt sing for 2 years)
