What are the rules regarding marrying a woman overseas? How many times can i do it as an Aussie citizen? i have agreed to help get my friends sick sister here by marrying her, so she doesn't die due to her countries pathetic health system. But here is my trouble, i wish to marry my girlfriend who is overseas too. If i do this fake thing for my friend before i go ahead with my real marriage, will the government try to put a stop to my real bride being allowed to live here? i need some honest answers here. I don't know where else to find unbiased information, and links?

  1. Don't even think about trying what you're suggesting. It simply won't work and you will find yourself and your spouse/s in major legal trouble.

Believe me, the Australian immigration authorities have seen and heard it all and their requirements to prove the authenticity of a relationship are incredibly strict and exhaustive and will weed out any spurious applicants.

They say "You and your partner must show a mutual commitment to a shared life as husband and wife to the exclusion of all others. You and your partner must be living together or, if not, any separation must be only temporary. You must also have a genuine and continuing relationship with your partner."

See the page below for what they require as evidence of a genuine and continuing relationship and you'll see how difficult it would be the first time, not to mention the second!!

    EDIT:

Tuppenybitz's point re passing the health requirement is absolutely correct. Even if everything was completely legit and above board, you wouldn't get a spouse into Australia if she has medical problems.

  2. you and the woman can find yoursleves doing jail time,it is a crime to do what your suggesting

you will never get 2 brides in to australia ,it takes at least 2 years before your marriage is accepted and permanent residency is granted

anyway if she is so sick she will not pass the immigration medical,my hubby has an ankle crush injury and he cant move to australia.it is very strict to get in to australia

think long and hard before you risk not being able to sponsor the one you love
