Australian selectors will have a hard time selecting bowlers: Michael Clarke
Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, believes that the Australian selectors will face a tough challenge in selecting the bowling attack for the fourth One-Day international against England at the Adelaide Oval.
Earlier in the series, the home side trounced the visitors by a convincing margin of four wickets. In doing so, they led the ongoing fifty-over series by 3-0, with four more matches to play.
In the last ODI, the visiting side made a modest total of 214 runs. Jonathan Trott was the star performer with the bat for his team, amassing 84 in order to coast his team to a decent position. For the home side, Brett Lee was the pick of the bowlers, as
he grabbed brilliant figures of 3 for 27 in eight incisive overs.
Furthermore, the Kangaroos chased it down in 46 overs. Brad Haddin provided his team with a solid start, as he smashed a brilliant half-century, while David Hussey scored an un-beaten 88 in order to steer his team to victory.
Brett Lee, who was the ‘Man of the match’ in the previous game, has shown glimpses of his past self. Mitchell Johnson, who didn’t participate in the third game due to a throat infection, has recovered and will be available for the next game. Meanwhile, Shaun
Tait, who also missed the match in Sydney, is declared fit and can take part in the fourth encounter.
"It's going to be tough," Clarke said of the dilemma awaiting the Australian selectors. "John Hastings grabbed his chance, made the most of his opportunity, not just with the ball but with the bat as well, and he's a great guy to have around the group."
The Australian skipper added, "Brett's experience and knowledge, he's been waiting a long time to get back into this team so it's going to be hard to ask him to have a rest, I don't like my chances to be honest."And Bollinger is bowling well again, which
is nice."
The wicket in Adelaide is going to be a slow track and it will help the spin bowlers. So, Australia might not play four front-line seamers. Xavier Doherty impressed on his return to the National team after being dropped from the side in the third Ashes Test,
grabbing 2 for 37 in his spell of ten overs.
The fourth One-dayer will be played on Wednesday. This is almost a deciding game for England who are trailing by 0-3 in the seven-match series. A defeat in Adelaide will book the series loss for England.
