Australian skipper Rocky Elsom says his side not wary of revamped Springboks - Rugby News
Wallabies captain Rocky Elsom has reiterated that his side is not worried about the Springboks, ahead of their upcoming meeting in the Tri-Nations Cup on August 13 in Durban. The Boks have re-called 13 rested players for this particular match which is definitely
a big boost to their limping side. With the return of 13 players including nine who elevated their side during the Rugby World Cup 2007, the Boks have become a much more competitive side now. However, Rocky Elsom told the media earlier on August 12 that Wallabies
just need to concentrate on their own performance during the match.
Both the sides have been struggling with their performance in the tournament and trying to find the spot to get back on the track. The Boks, however have remained more miserable than the Wallabies as they have yet to taste victory in the ongoing event. The
South African side found itself in troubled water after they decided to rest 21 key players from the opening two games of the Tri-Nations Cup 2011. They have received huge defeats by Wallabies and the All Blacks in the absence senior campaigners.
Meanwhile, the Wallabies are also up and down with their output since a month or so. They have won just one encounter in their previous three out goings and really need to find some winning momentum before the start the Rugby World Cup 2011 next month.
Talking to reporters, Australian skipper Rocky Elsom suggested his side enhance their own performance in the match and the returning veteran Boks will not matter. He added that, “They will be doing the same as us, which is just focussing on themselves. We
have obviously got our game that we want to play and they will have theirs. Getting our bit right is the most important thing. They will have some things that we are aware of, having played them so much, but it just comes down to us doing what we do well.”
Wallabies and Springboks will meet second time in Tri-Nations Cup on August 13, 2011 in Durban.
