Australian student visa is about to expire & spouse visa still is in process . do i have to renew studentvisa

i came on a student visa to join my husband in australia who is a PR . spouse visa in india was taking upto 1 year so i chose to come on student visa. now i have just applied my spouse visa in australia which is in process but my current student visa is about to expire in august 08 . what happens in this case.do i renew my student visa till i get the result of spouse visa or i get bridging visa in sep

  1. You should apply for a bridging visa C. These are normally granted when a non-citizen has made an application for a substantive visa that has not been decided.

    You should also check your recent spouse visa application. In many cases, a valid application for a substantive visa which is made IN Australia will also be an application for a bridging visa.
