Australian student wanting to work in amerca for upto 6 months?

hi im an australian student and because of issues with my uni course, i have 6 months to fill in until i can get into the degree i want. ive heard of australians working in america for a short time through work abroad programes as theme park operators, ski resort operators but it is possible for me to just get a job in retail or something?

if anyone has any helpful sites or information, or if anyone wants to share their experience that would be wonderful! :)

  1. America does not offer a visa for this type of casual work which you want to do. There are no working holiday makers visas for the U.S.

    To work in the U.S. you must possess at least a bachelor's degree and for work you do, there must be no qualified U.S. citizens are permanent residents either qualified, able or willing to do the job. Retail and general minimum wage jobs, there are no shortage of workers in the U.S. for this type of employment.

    If you are interested, look into programs such as BUNAC or Camp American - you may or may not qualify, but that is your only option at this moment in time.
