Pouring cold water on Australia’s hopes of winning the Ashes trophy back, Collingwood uttered that regaining top spot once again will not be an easy journey for the Kangaroos, as it requires continuous hard work.
“Australia was the best side for 10-15 years but they are now going through what most other teams go through when great players retire and new ones come in. It takes time to rebuild and win consistently so from an England point of view it`s nice to be No.
1,” said Collingwood who is currently in Australia to participate in the ongoing Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers.
Ending his 68-Test-old career, Collingwood retired from the longest version of the game after the Ashes series earlier this year. Due to his fair performance in the mega event, the seasoned all-rounder lost his place in the limited-over side, and is yet
to return to action.

Talking about England’s recent rise to the top of the rankings, he lauded his teammates, and claimed that the best from the English side is yet to come.
“England has got the players to be the best side in the world in Test, ODI, and Twenty20 cricket. They are already the No. 1 Test side, but we haven’t seen the best of this England team. They are a well led side with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 and Alastair
Cook in charge,” added the 35-year-old who is England’s most experienced cricketer in the 50-over format of the sport with 197 games.
