Australian view on the Queen of England?

As an actual Australian, there is a massive split, I personally have nothing against the Queen, i personally see nothing wrong with the monarcy, I am NOT against a republic BUT my attitude is "if its not broken why try and fix it"

Well, you could stop calling her the Queen of England, for one thing. That's not a word that's found anywhere in any of her official titles.

I know there's a debate in Australia on whether to become a republic or not, but one answer's hit it on the head. 'If it aint broke, don't fix it.' Sums it up for me.

Which would you rather anyway, a ceremonial Head of State who costs little and only shows up once every few years, or a President who needs his/ her own residence and will be a member of one or another political party and get in the way?

For those who'd prefer a President, well, I can only assume you've never seen anything to do with George W. Bush....

I'm not Australian but if Alex is any example of Australians, I'm glad they're on the other side of the world, what an ignorant statement, his Irish girlfriend doesn't like royal, I'm not crazy about people that are Catholic Irish, so f***ing what!  At least my opinion is based on MY OWN  experiences, not a friend's bigotry.
