Australian youth teams continue preparation for 2011 World Championship
The 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball Youth World Championship is scheduled to run from June 22-26.
The city of Umag in Croatia will host the action of international teams on its sandy beaches. The event will be attended by aspiring beach volleyball tandems from every nook and cranny of the world.
Since there is two weeks’ time left in the official opening of the tournament, the participating teams are busy in preparations for the upcoming battle for supremacy. The athletes are undergoing extensive training and most of the teams are having friendly
matches with other teams.
Australian Youth squad is also set take part in the 2011 Youth World Championship. The Aussie players are working on their skills before the start of the event. In this regard, the Aussie players left for Europe on Monday, June 6. They will make a stop in
the Netherlands. The Dutch Volleyball Federation will accommodate them and arrange a series of tournaments for them with local teams. The Australian Youth Beach Volleyball squad includes the following players:
Male Players: Brad Millers, Max Staples, Sam Halliday, Lincoln Williams. Female players: Australia Women: Nicole Laird,Madeleine Clarke, Mariafe Artacho Del Solar, and Jennifer Sadler.
The Aussie players will hold a proper training camp in Netherlands. The team will have different practice and training sessions. They will also play matches with Netherlands’ Junior and Youth Beach Volleyball Teams.
Mariafe Artacho Del Solar of Australia will also show up at the training camp. Mariafe has earned a great reputation in the recent years. She pulled off success in the last three Under-23 Australian National Beach Volleyball Championships.
Moreover, she has been named for multiple top five finishes in different Australian Beach Volleyball Tournament. Her presence will make it more excitable for the young Australian players.
The training camp in Netherlands and matches against various local teams will provide a great edge to the Aussie players. They have great plans for the upcoming venture, which will certainly require them to exhibit an extra-ordinary performance. This training
camp in Netherlands will help them gain the confidence for better play at the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball Youth World Championship.
