I can't figure out how glass, tins and plastic can all go in one bin, get tipped into a truck, all the glass is broken to bits, and this stuff really gets sorted and recycled??? Does anyone have the inside story on this? (like do you work at the recycling plant or something)

  1. I was just in a climate change conference todday in Adelaide Uni and I learnt that they make stuff out of paper like recycled paper and with plastic they burn it or whateva and mould it into new things like plastic chairs, tables etc. With green waste, THey mulch it up and they put it someplace and then they use it for ur umm..forgot but it's the stuff u put on ur garden

With electronics, they have to remove dangerous stuff like screens and stuff because they will damage the environment when crushed or so.

And yer garbage, they don't recycle at all. It just goes into landfill

  2. i do the phone/data cabling for a recycle plant. it all gets sorted and bundled. glass is crushed and sent out in different grades.

ive even seen a place that crumbles up old car/truck tyres .
