Do you think that the Government & Councils of Australia need to post signs warning people to NOT throw their cigarette butts out the window?? There are litter ones, but none address cigarette butts.

I mean seriously, you would think knowing we are in the middle of a drought & the amount of scrub fires started from stray butts around here is UNREAL!!!!

We had our front paddock on fire this morning, because of some twit throwing a ciggie out the window. Grrr!!! How they missed that the paddocks around here are so dry - Beyond me!

Maybe they should make the fines for it a lot higher.

The fact that new cars don't come out with ashtrays in them anymore is also a contributing factor. Bad Bad Bad !

People who live in the scrub are a lot more conscious of how they distinguish their butts than city slickers.

Like the last post, i think signs are useless.- unfortunately. The people that cause all this trouble are so ignorant, that they dont care about a sign, or what their actions are doing to the world around them.

These people really need a wake up call - and be held more responsible (if it were possible) for their actions

I absolutely agree that there should be warning signs! But to take it one step further and ban smoking in cars altogether would be even better. You aren't allowed to use a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving a car, yet you can smoke. I'm afraid I don't get it.

It is actually illegal to throw your cigarette butt out the window in Queensland.

So if you see anyone... Report them.

Has caused a lot of fires here too.
