Australia’s Chairman of selectors, Andrew Hilditch, not happy with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DE-Bollinger-c1348’s fitness – Cricket News Update
The chairman of the Australian selection committee, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Mark-Jefferson-Hilditch-c44498, showed dissatisfaction over the fitness of the left-arm fast bowler, Doug Bollinger.
"He's a very talented bowler and we think he can still get back to playing Test cricket. But we need to be satisfied that he can do so at full intensity. That's just critical at the moment because we're playing in an era where back-to-back Test matches are
virtually inevitable." Hilditch stated.
Bollinger, who was recently included in the list of the contracted players for the 2011-12 season of Australian cricket, was dropped from the Test squad for the upcoming series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758; however, he made the Aussies One Day International side.
Earlier, the 29-year-old pacer expressed his strong desire to represent his country in all formats of the game.
''I want to play all three forms and I think everyone knows that I can,'' he had said.
''It's just about getting another [Test] opportunity and especially taking it. Test cricket is my favourite form. If you can conquer Test cricket it is a massive boost.'' Bollinger added.
The Sydney born Bollinger has served his country in 12 Test matches, taking 50 wickets with an economy rate of 3.23.
Whereas in ODIs, he has participated in 32 fixtures, picking 50 wickets with an economy rate of 4.54.
Meanwhile, the fast bowler has been the most consistent performer in the Twenty20 format of the game, playing 48 fixtures for his national side, grabbing 54 wickets.
Most interestingly, the Aussies selectors have also not included Bollinger, who is also famous with the nick name of Eagle, in the Twenty20 side.
The Aussie bowler represented Chennai Super Kings, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Worcestershire-c866 at domestic level.
