Australia’s Jharal Yow Yeh, Josh Morris in line for place in Gillette Final showdown
Australia confirmed on Thursday, November 10, after the team’s training session at Widnes that wingers, Jharal Yow Yeh and Josh Morris, will participate in Sunday’s encounter against the underdogs of Gillette Four Nations, Wales.
Their performance will be evaluated individually which will then determine who will be part of the Gillette Four Nations’ final showdown, which is scheduled to take place next week.
Coach Tim Sheens has been compelled to make at least one amendment to his side’s line-up, which has recently clinched a 36-20 win against English side. The match cost them heavily as full-back Billy Slater sustained a major collarbone injury, which will
sit him out of the Final showdown.
In lieu of the untimely loss of Slater, Darius Boyd will be moved to full back’s position from his previously held winger’s spot. This change has been welcomed by the St George Illawarra’s player a great deal because he has been moved to his favourite spot
and now he will support the number 1 jersey for his side.
While speaking about the finalised pick for the winger’s position, Australian coach shared, “I'll pick a winger from those two to pair with Akuila Uate for the final.”
As the duo will exhibit their performance against the Welsh side in opposition, the coach will decide their future. Since there is only one vacant spot, the decision will be hard to make as well.
Yow Yeh who scored his first try against Zealand in the Anzac Test on the Gold Coast in the earlier half of the year said, “It's a good challenge. There's a couple of boys going up for it so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I can play consistent footie
on Sunday. I'm going to take my opportunity and run with it and hopefully get a chance to make the final.”
The player has planned that all he is going to do is to continue with his regular way of playing which will manage to impress the coach in making him part of the final clash of the campaign.
Australia’s opponents for the final clash of the campaign will be confirmed after the eliminator showdown on Saturday between England and New Zealand. So far, either side is going pretty strong into the tournament, so nothing much can be speculated about
whose stakes being higher in comparison.
