Australia’s Krystal Weir on top Laser Radial fleet on Day 3 of 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta
Delta Lloyd Regatta 2012 has produced some tremendous sailing competitions on the Medemblik waters under ideal wind conditions. The same enthusiasm and excitement was witnessed during the Laser Radial races where the Australian sailor, Krystal Weir was able
to retain her top podium place.
The Aussie sailor compiled 14 points at the conclusion of third day proceedings after taking part in eight races. During her regatta campaign, Krystal clinched four second finishes, two fourth finishes and two bullets to retain her top position in the overall
standings of the regatta.
The weather conditions on the Medemblik waters on the third day were not supportive as the fleet had to wait for the winds to settle in. The races on Day 3 began a little late but the fleet showed great determination to complete the scheduled beats on time
to formulate updated results.
Krystal’s run in the regatta was a bit slow at the start as she earned some lower finishes and hit the second spot. The second day proceedings went almost the same for her but she managed to hit the top podium place.
Her performance on the third day brought a tremendous change in her results. She took two bullets that cemented her name to the top of the fleet standings. Now she is feeling quite confident and will be looking to stay on the top.
