Australia’s Michael Nash leads 2012 International Yngling World Championship in Sydney
Impressive sailing conditions on the third day of the 2012 International Yngling World Championship supported the fleet to complete scheduled race.
The event is being conducted by the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron in Australia and has produced some excellent display of sailing.
With excellent sailing throughout the Championship brought Michael Nash and his crew of Mel Nathan and Greg Harnett on top of the final placing at the conclusion of Day 3.
Nash and crew compiled the score line of 2, 3, 4 to earn nine points to hit the leading spot in the end. The team showed consistency in their performance which became the key to clinch the lead.
The Australian Champion, Michael Nash, had a convincing run on Sydney Harbour waters. The weather conditions over the racing area were ideal for a complete sail.
The winds were blowing from 10 to 15 knots at the start of the day but after a while, the breeze shifted to 15 to 19 knots. Despite the rise in wind speed, the fleet was able to complete the proceedings.
Nash and crew are being closely followed by second placed Maarten Jamin along with Jaap Smolders and Menno Berens, current World Champions from the Netherlands with 11 points.
On third place is Tom Otte with the crew, Diederik Kuiulers and Reinier Tromp, on 15 points after three races compiling the scores, 5, 4, 6.
