New Zealand has ended an unbeaten streak in ODI matches for Australia with a narrow victory in Napier. Before then, when was the last time Ricky Ponting’s side had lost an ODI match?

Australia had been unbeaten in 13 scheduled ODIs before their loss in Napier – but a couple of those were abandoned due to rain so do not count as wins. They were last beaten by India  at Delhi on October 31, 2009, though Australia did win that seven match series.
