  1. we are helping to rebuild a country that was Ravaged by the Taliban and Russians the Australian Army is helping to build Schools and Hospitals and the Afganis want us there

It shows that a small populated country like Australia has a great Army and can help when needed

the reason the USA wanted our SAS they are as good as the Poms and better than any other fighting force

as for defending ourselves We stopped the Imperial Japanese Army from invading Australia in fact Australia was the First Country in WW11 to stop the Japanese

  2. I love Austria. They have some very good skiing. They do fight like pansies and we're pretty sympathetic to Hitler.

  3. Hi, from a practical perspective - Australia has a very small population and subsequently small defence force. Couple this with one of the largest coastlines in the world and you have a country that will struggle to defend itself. This means we need strong allies. So sending our troops to Afghanistan demonstrates our commitment to helping our strongest allies (the US and UK) in the hope that they would come to our aid should we need it. But sending our troops also depletes our "troops on the ground" in Australia that we use for more local objectives.

Though small, our SAS is regarded as some of the best trained and highly skilled special forces in the world.

With regards to social justice and equity, as a democracy we would like to believe that we are fighting the good fight in the war of good against evil. Deposing despots and governments that harbor terrorists and replacing them with freely and democratically elected officials. Well, that is the justification.
