India’s Parupalli Kashyap started his campaign in an impressive manner as he tamed Jan Frohlich of Czech Republic in Men’s Singles first round of Austrian International Challenge 2012 in Austria, on Thursday, February 23.
The World Number 31 Kashyap, who is the top seed in Men’s Singles draw of the tournament, delivered an expected performance and won the fight against the lower ranked Frohlich without facing any trouble.
The top seed played flawless badminton throughout the contest and finished it in straight games by taking just 27 minutes in the court.
Kashyap started the opening set with an aggressive approach as he played fast game from the starting points and he did not take much time in setting up a comfortable lead.
On the other hand, Frohlich failed to compete well against the top seed and remained struggling in taking the bird early from all areas.
He also committed many unforced mistakes which helped his higher ranked opponent to set up a wonderful lead until the break.
However, Kashyap was focused as he did not let his opponent to reduce the deficit in the game. He was quite relaxed but quicker in all areas of the court and executed his powerful strokes accurately in the targeted areas.
The Indian remained in good control and he did not spare any opportunity for Frohlich to dominate the game. Kashyap took the opening set in an impressive fashion with a remarkable margin of 21-13.
In the following set, Frohlich tried to play aggressive game but he failed to execute his strokes positively as many of his shots went wide of the court or into the net.

His smashes landed in right areas and his wonderful deception helped him in maintaining pressure on his rival. Until the break, Kashyap was far ahead of Frohlich on the score board.
After the break, Kashyap kept the pace of rallies high and continued his impressive play throughout the set. He did not face any trouble from his un-seeded rival in the second game and ended it with a stunning margin of 21-12.
