The grid of 16 teams has been divided into four pools, while cities of Wien, Innsbruck, Karlovy Vary and Prag will host the matches. Austria will be joined by teams from Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey in Pool A.
Being the host of this championship, Austria is all up to profit the competitive edge in the game. The head coach of Austrian Team, Michael Warm has big plans to steal the show at Euro Volleyball 2011. He has assembled a great team to clinch the European
Title. Austrian squad is undergoing extensive training and working on their game strategy.
Meanwhile, Michael Warm talked about the upcoming event and preparation of his team.
He stated, “Our men’s national team wants to play a prominent role in the coming years in Austria as well as in Europe. We are able to prepare with the necessary consistency and quality at the “VIVA” sports centre in Steinbrunn and therefore it is in a way
natural that we are going to start our series of friendly matches there. With Croatia we will have a first chance to test out our skills and condition.”
As a part of their preparation, Austrians will also play a couple of friendly matches with Croatia at the weekend. First match will be held at VIVA Sports Centre in Steinbrunn on Friday, while city of Horn will host the second friendly match on Saturday.
