You would think she would wonder why her husband was in the basement all the time and heard something. I'm sure she did know. She was probably getting the c**p beat out of her and scared of her husband and in extreme denial about it. Or maybe she was discusting and awful too. Who knows. The whole thing is beyond me how anyone can be that d**n evil.

I think she must have been in a severe state of denial.  Denial is a self-protective defense mechanism which, in the extreme, can be very destructive.   She must have been living her own kind of h**l being married to that man and denying that as well.

The one thing I have issues with is apparently he phoned his wife,putting on a high pitched voice pretending to be the daughter at one stage saying she wanted her to look after the children.Now that I don't believe.No wife would be fooled by that.There's more to come out on this one.

From what I have read, I think that he made it appear long ago that the daughter wanted no more ties to the parents.  There was something about an apparent letter the daughter wrote saying she did not want to found.  I think the father convinced the mother that she was not worth looking for.  And I also think that there's a strong possibility that he abused his wife as well.  The wife should've been more determined to get answers when he brought the first of his incestuous babies 'upstairs' for them to raise.  Sadly, some women just don't stand up to their husbands.  The whole thing is just sick.  This is not the first case of something like this happening in Austria.
