My daughter will be flying with her aunt and uncle to USA, from France (we live in England). She has french and english nationality. Do we need to do a special authorisation paper to let her fly with her aunt and uncle or can we just give her a letter saying that we certify she is allowed to fly with them ?

  1. I would ring the airline to double check, it will cause all sorts of problems if when they get there, they refuse to let her go.  At least then you'll know what you need to do.

  2. Probably not.  According to the British Airways website, you can fly alone on a pre-booked ticket at age 12.

  3. me and my brother had flown before

at the time he was 10 and i was 14

i needed no papers, he on the other hand did

14's the cut off. so she will be able to fly on her own.

as long as she has her passport there is no need for additional papers.  if u want to be extra safe send a note with her but there is no need for special authorisation papers.

  4. just tell the airline she will be flying with her aunt and uncle, to be honest, i dont think they need to know.

  5. I flew from the UK to Florida when I was 14 with My Grandma. I didn't need any documents at all

  6. At 14 years (and your own passport) you must with an adult.

    ANY adult.

    She is Not flying alone.

  7. I think its best if you call your airline first. I flew to canada alone when i was 12 from England but cant remember the procedure. Dont forget the Yanks have tightened airport security because apparently 2 planes flew into the Twin Towers..... A story with holes so big you could fly a jumbo jet through them.

  8. As long as she is accompanied by someone over the legal guardian age then she is allowed to fly.

If she is flying with nobody else then you will need to fill out papers to state that she is an unaccompanied minor.
