  1. Simon Baron Cohen is the Director of the University of Cambridge,UK. His theory in autism is called "mindblindness"

If it is the study I am thinking of, he used a down syndromee comparison group to show that the social difference was a result of the autism not just the result of having a disability in general. I believe he showed that typical kids and kids with down syndrom show empathy when someone is hurt, but not kids with autism. This type of lack of social awareness is unique to autism.

    Control groups such as the typical group and down syndrome group are a type of "control"
