  1. Maybe.

You'd have to look around your VCR's setup menu to see if there's a "Blue" option of somesort (I recall seeing it called Blue/Black at one point)...it's called something different on just about every TV I've encountered. I'd check in the "Tuner" or "channel" or "antenna" or whatever they call it section...you may have to scroll through each option. You should get this screen if your game system is turned off as well...so leaving it off and going through the menu may allow you to see the option when you find it...although i really don't know, each VCR is different.

I would suggest however if you're playing video games and using your VCR as an RF adapter, that you buy a dedicated RF adapter. VHS machines have circuitry that applies a brightness gain to the video signal...which is the basis of copy-protection. The massive white screen overloads the video circuit and causes it to drop out momentarly. A dedicated RF adapter (which will cost you about $15 at Wal-Mart) doesn't apply this kind of stuff to the video, so you won't have the problem.

On a completely CRAZY note....old Betamax machines lack the video gain amp and wouldn't show this behavior.
