  1. As far as i know, this is a question with many different answers,it is really depend on the judgement of yourself, provide a great resource here for reference though.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  2. OK, let's clear something up - your liability section, covers you for how much OTHER people can sue you for.  It's IRRELEVANT how much your car is worth.  If you crash into a $50,000 car, and wreck it, YOU, or your auto insurance, have to pay that $50,000.  Minimum property damage limits in MI is $10,000.   If you have minimum PD coverage, then your policy pays $10,000 and you pay the other $40,000.

No fault in MI doesn't mean that you can't be sued, for injuries you cause.  It means you have to collect your medical payments and lost wages under your own policy FIRST, and THEN you can sue the guy that hit you.

Limited property damage liability, will pay up to $500, to fix your car, if you are in an accident, AND you are less than 50% at fault for that accident.

Property protection insurance coverage pays up to $1 million for damage your car does in Michigan to other people's property, such as buildings, poles and fences. This type of coverage will also pay for damage your car does to other people's properly parked vehicles.

Personal injury protection, property protection, and bodily injury/propery damage coverages, are all REQUIRED on an auto policy in MI.

YOUR AGENT should be explaining this to you.

  3. Samuel F, For car insurance the quick method to get a cheap quote is do a car policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage amounts, you can get an quick quote to compare against others. Use the same coverage area, car make/model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get accurate comparison. To get mulitple auto quotes, go to http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Mi... and you can compare the major auto insurance companies.

  4. I would guess that the property protection refers to having a protection against wrecking into someone's property (cars, houses, etc.)  Property damage liability would refer to property that is inside the other person's things (cd player, etc.)

A site I've recommended in the past would be...
