What are some of the most expensive auto insurance companies in New Jersey? And what are some good inexpensive ones? I've had State Farm for years now and I want to start shopping around for cheaper companies and would like some input from some of you. Thanks for your help and opinions!

  1. I like to use http://www.nationwidebillrelief.com/auto... for quotes in NJ. Some other people I know have saved with http://www.highpointins.com if you are 50 or older try http://www.thehartford.com rates. The best thing you can do is get quotes from as many companies as possible. Then you can check out the financial stability and ratings at http://www.ambest.com and check out past complaints from http://www.bbb.org to find a great auto insurance company. State Farm is very good, but have not always been know to be the cheapest. I do think you will end up saving a lot of money when you start comparing rates.

  2. NJ is one of the most expensive, insurance-hostile environments in the U.S. State Farm actually threw in the towel years ago and stopped selling policies there altogether so if you decide to go with someone else you likely won't be able to go back. Premium insurance companies like State Farm, Allstate, GEICO, etc. are higher than many, many other insurers but like the old saying goes, 'you really do get what you pay for', meaning, you really don't need insurance at all -- until you REALLY need insurance. So keep this in mind as you drive around amongst those Benz's, Lexi, $200,000 RV's and lawyers standing on every street corner just waiting to sue someone.

  3. MamaBear, For auto insurance the fastest way to get a low quote is do a car policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an quick quote to compare against others. Use the same coverage area, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to make sure you get accurate comparison. To get fast auto insurance quotes, go to http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Auto-I... and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.

  4. ahhh auto insurance. one of the biggest scams in the world.
