  1. Here is some good infromation. http://www.learncoverage.com

  2. well, you cant just not pay your policy and think you wont get a write off.

Look at the application you signed, its right on there.

    Now,

Did you buy a 6 month policy with progressive or a 12 month policy?

If you got a 6 month policy and it ended on, say Jan 11th, and you bought a new policy thru geico effective Jan 11th just show progressive that they automaticly renewed your policy and you had already replaced your coverage on the same date and maybe they will be kind enough to remove the charge.

But if you cancel half way thru or 2 days after the renewal date they are going to charge you 10% of the unpaid premium, and yes, you will owe it.

Advice-Read your documents, always cancel on the renewal dates, and always contact the agent to see if they need it in writing.

  3. Any money owed to progressive will show on your credit report.  Even though they canceled you for non-payment, there was probally still a balance owed to them.  And also, progressive here (TN) charges a 10% fee for canceling a policy.  Might want to find the policy and read the fine print

  4. If you owe, it will likely go on your report.  You should have cancelled your Progressive policy and settled any due premium when you switched.
