  1. Simply put, it means preventing parts failure by doing scheduled maintenance such as oil and filter changes, topping off fluid levels as needed, and generally keeping your vehicle at top operating condition.

Remember, maintenance is much cheaper than repairs !

  2. Need to know what specific make and model  you are asking on, what are you concerns, more details please.

  3. do you want to know good maintenance practices?

your question could be more specific....

    however, i suggest these:

1.) change your oil every 3,000 miles

2.) check transmission oil and filter...if oil doesn't look red and looks black or smells burnt, change it

3.) check pressure in tires once a month (when tires are cold)

4.) change antifreeze once a year

5.) manually inspect belts and hoses for wear

  4. BMW oil change intervals are about 15,000 miles. Service 1 inspection every 30,000 and Service 2 inspection every 60,000. It costs plenty to maintain a BMW. If you have a newer vehicle still under the factory maintanance plan you may be able to upgrade for a longer time and mileage limit. It is a great idea, not only does it cover your oil changes and inspections but also your brakes, belts, and wipers. Everything adds up quick.
