Question:

AutoCAD problem with selecting a line?

For the past several years, every time I click on a line, object or whatever, that item becomes "dashed line" so that it shows you what you have selected.

For whatever reason, since yesterday something has changed. Now when I click on a line, it doesn't show that. The only why I can tell that is has been clicked on is but the grips at the end and middle. I've never seen this before.

Does anyone know how to change this?! It is quite the pain in the behind!!

  1. hmmm, that's strange. The only time I've seen that happen is when it's a double line...like it got drawn over twice, and it's selected the one on top, but not the one underneath. Which would be why the line isn't dashed.

Are you using regular lines, or polylines? A polyline won't dash when selected.

I'm an AutoCAD expert, and I don't know what the problem is if it isn't one of the 2 I said above.

If you have any more details you can add, I will try to help further. Ex. what version your using, etc.

Edit: lol that's funny. Yes, I guess that's what I should have told you to do first! That's what I always do first...reboot and try again! Have a good day!
