  1. Assuming this is the UK as when I lived there, they had an automatic and a manual license. The legal definition is clutch or lack of clutch. As the car doesn't  have a clutch, you will be perfectly fine taking your test in it.

My advice though would be to learn how to drive a manual and take the manual test, then you can drive either car, and manual cars have better petrol consumption figures because the transmission doesn't have to "guestimate", and the cars are generally a few kilos lighter. Also, it won't restrict your choice of car.

  2. Basically, if you take a test for an automatic then you can ONLY drive auto's

    but

If you take the test for manual (with a a clutch) you can drive EITHER manual or auto

You better just confirm this though as not 100% sure

  3. I have never heard of an Automatic car licence. If you have a license you can drive a stick shift or automatic.

  4. If you've got a restricted licence it will tell you so and you will only be able to drive automatics

  5. ya

  6. Hello

You can only drive a car that has a selector like the one shown.  You cannot drive a car fitted with the selaspeed gearbox on an automatic license as you select the gear and when to change it. Which classes it as a manual and as so requires the manual license. Sorry.

  7. Don't bother with getting an auto licence, go straight for a manual and get an auto if you want one. I think you should get a manual anyway. They are better, cheaper, easier on fuel, faster, better acceleration, you can choose the gear for the condition etc.

  8. what you mean automatic car license? there,s only 1 license and you can drive automatic or manuel cars with it. unless it states that you can only drive a car with automatic transmission

  9. automatic licence means exactly what it says on the paper.

    automatic cars only

  10. i think its ok unless there is a clutch

  11. To confirm, in the UK it revolves around the presence of a clutch pedal. If there is none, it is officially "automatic", no matter what you do with the selector.
