Question:

Automatic dialing telemarketing calls are annoying, need help.?

I am on the national do not call registry. Still, once or twice a week I am bothered by unsolicited calls originating from automatic dialers, no human caller. I say hello, there is a 10 second pause, then a prerecorded message asks if I want to 1) reduce the interest rate on my credit card, or 2) extend my automobile warranty. "Press 1 to talk to one of our live representatives." How annoying! Any suggestions?

  1. 1.  Credit card may be your bank.

    2.  Extended auto warranty (a scam), usually a Florida number.

Choose the option.  Tell them that you are on the Do Not Call list and this is their one warning.  Log the caller ID number.

If they call back, report them.

  2. get a tele-zapper or caller Id manager!

  3. In Canada, they only have 3 seconds to get a human on the line after you answer.  If you have call display, record the number and forward it to whoever is responsible for prosecuting telemarketers that do not abide by the registry.  Good luck.
