All Blacks have shattered Scottish dreams by defeating them with a record score of 49-3.
It was Scotland’s first match of this autumn season, which was played at Murray field Stadium, Edinburgh.
The 28th match between the two countries was witnessed by over 55,000 people.
All Blacks’ Sonny Bill Williams was declared man of the match due to his remarkable performance.
It was all in favor of All Blacks. They kept Scotland under pressure right from the start. Dan Carter helped his team with 4 tries to take the lead of 28-3 at the end of first half. All Blacks took 3 more tries in the 2nd half, which helped them
to win the match.
All Blacks star player Keven Mealamu was not part of the team due to a 2-week-ban..
All Blacks were not entirely happy with their performance of 26-16 against England and played the match against England with their full strength mainly to prepare themselves for the world cup.
But when the match started, it was Scotland who scored first point of the match, when Dan Parks scored on penalty from a long distance of 40 meters. But it was the only moment for Scotland in the whole match to joy, as All Blacks never game them any air
to breathe afterwards.
Right after first point taken by Scotland, All Blacks got a try from a scrum, when Jimmy Cowan provided the ball to Williams. Dan Carter converted the try into points and then took 1 more try himself and raised the score.
Carter then came into action again, when he collected a poor pass from right wing Isaia Toeava and scored more points for his team.
Scotland was unlucky when their scrum half and captain mike Blair left the game due to injury. His injury allowed replacement player Greig Laidlaw to make his debut.
By the end of first half, All Blacks were leading 28-3.
All Blacks started the second half with one more try and Muliaina scored on the pass from Williams. Dan Carter, who scored 4 tries in the first half, was withdrawn from game by coach Graham Henry with 30 minutes left in order to rest him.
All Blacks Captain Richie McCaw was all praise for man-of-the-match Sonny Bill Williams, “He is a real threat with the ball and he wants to fit in and it’s not always about him crashing it. He is not easy to read and he takes a little getting used to but
it’s just great to have him playing like that.”
