Available jobs in New Orleans??

Question

I'm from New Orleans, and I was wondering if any from New Orleans knows about any job openings? I'm going to be starting college soon and I need a job to help pay for my expenses. Can anybody help me?

The other answers are correct and almost every business has a Help Wanted sign outside. That also applies to most of the museums and attractions.

However, first check with the college about on-campus jobs.  The convenience is obvious, and many schools offer a tuition reduction and other discounts for employees (sometimes after a period of time).

I heard on NPR that all the hotels that are open in and around the French Quarter are looking for help and willing to pay $10-$12 to start (for housekeeping, bellhops etc) simply because those that work minimum wage jobs cannot afford to live near their jobs because of the housing shortage in New Orleans. For awhile, they were even busing in workers from outlying areas, even as far as Baton Rouge!

So if you already have a place to live in New Orleans, you are one step ahead of the game. There should be jobs galore!

New Orleans is the fastest growing city in the country right now.  Waiting tables will be an easy way to make money while going to college - no problem finding a job there.
