Avatar the Last Airbender? Finale?

How was Azula bending lightning? She was especially distraught in the series finale. Before her coronation she was just...out of it. I dont know...arent you supposed to be especially balanced out and with no inner turmoil to do lightning? Plot hole?

Azula has always been a little ... off. She's obviously got a lot of issues going on, and if bending lightning required no inner turmoil, I don't think she'd ever be able to do it. It is revealed throughout the last season that she has an inner struggle with the fact that her mother thought of her as a monster, and favored Zuko. I think this is only one of the many things causing her inner turmoil.

I think what needs to be remembered is that Azula is a firebending prodigy, and skills in this area come easier to her than the average firebender. I think that, even though she seems to have snapped a bit in the season finale, she is still able to maintain the immense amount of concentration needed for lightning bending.

remember,she's a prodigy at firebending......so she's more advanced at bending lightning , plus she did try to focus on the fight against her brother....
