Avatars...What is the correct size for a YA avatar?

I scanned and posted my picture..but as you can see it's too small. Do I have to change it on the scanner? I don't know how to do that. What size does it have to be to fit?

your icon is all there , but your photo is lower portion , the average size is 48x48 pixels here, but you can change size  depending on pixels resolution, yours is 167 x 190, so re-edit photo to the size of your icon, also you can use your larger image through 360, instead of resizing to 48 pixels here,
