Avenue Q question?? Help!!?

I'm 14 and I'm VERY mature for my age.

I've listened to the soundtrack, which I think is more hysterical than dirty.

I've already looked it up on Broadways official website.

It is not suitable for children 12 and under. and children 4 and under are not permited in the theater.

When I told my mom about it, she seemed excited that I wanted to go to Broadway again, but she wants to see The Lion King and Legally Blonde...Both of which I'm not a big fan of. I never like the Lion King growing up, and Legally Blonde bothers me.

I already told her about the age, and that I handled the soundtrack okay...

I told her she'd probly like it too, but she hasn't even heard the soundtrack and she hates it already. My mom is one to judge wayyyy to soon...I've mentioned that to her, but she denies it.

People that have seen it already...Is it as bad as my mom thinks it is???

What can I say that will convince her to take me to see it?

I've never seen Avenue Q, but I absolutely LOVE all of the songs. Yeah, they are a little bit inappropriate, but they're soooooo funny. I have the idea that you would have a great time if you went to see it.

I've never really been great at convincing my parents to let me do stuff, but I think that your best bet is to tell her that you're not a little kid. You know what s*x is. Then again, you know your mother better than I do, so you probably have better ideas to convince her.

If you (unfortunately) don't get to see Avenue Q, and your mom takes you to The Lion King or Legally Blonde instead, I think that you'll still have fun. I saw The Lion King, and the songs weren't as good as Avenue Q and it wasn't really funny or anything, but it was still spectacular. The costumes are SUPER interesting. If your mom takes you to see Legally Blonde, you might like it, too. I have never seen the musical, but I know some people at my school did, and they seemed to like it.
