Average Cost Of Inguinal Hernia Surgery For Female?

My wife has what I believe is an inguinal hernia...very small. Has been bothering her for several months. I gotta get this taken care of but have no insurance. Anyone know what the cost will be? Any ideas on how to get this done at a discount price? Thanks.

There's a subtype of inguinal hernia that can affect both sexes. The direct subtype of inguinal hernia can affect men and women equally.

It's a good idea to have it operated because intestines can get stuck in the hole, become necrotic and your wife's life can be in danger (ergo, more $$$ spent).

I don't know US prices because I live in Mexico. An operation like that in Mexico shouldn't cost you more than 5000 dollars. Search for a capable doctor of course. Mexico has some of the most posh (5-star posh) hospitals that almost have the nurses serve you caviar and 500 cable tv channels in luxurious rooms. You can take a look at Grupo Hospital Angeles or Grupo Hospitales ABC which are all very, very posh and will probably give a good service that most mexicans would never afford to enjoy for less than 12,000 US. I've known several people (both friend & family) get operated here in Mexico and none of them have had complications from malpractise.
