Question:

Average Household Costs?

I've been thinking of moving out with my girlfriend but wanted to get a rough idea about how much I need to spend on the essentials like food, water and electricity...

I would say that costs vary depending on location, so for people trying to lend a hand - I live in the Hunter Valley Region, NSW, Australia.

*All costs would be split with my girlfriend*

Help with this would be very much appreciated :)

  1. try finding an all inclusive apartment. those can run from $700-$1200. then you would only have to pay for food and a house phone which would cost $200-$300. Best of luck..search for all inclusive rentals before anything else, sometimes cable and internet is included.

  2. Well if you average your rent about $1300 a month and then with your cable/phone/internet,

    then gas electric/water,food

i would say your total month expenses

would run about $1700 a month.

  3. Hi, you would need to think about a lot more than food, water, electricity. I assume you have thought about TV, sofa, fridge freezer, washing machine, coffee table and a few more essentials.

Try the websites in the source for a bit more info. Good luck and congrats!
