I always thought it was three to four years, but I have two that are going on eight! And one even had a really bad ear infection like a month or so ago and he's still kicking. How long do they normally live?

  1. Rabbits in general can live up to 12-15 years. Dwarfs are no exception, I once knew of a 10 year old one who had to be put to sleep. If he still has his spunk, I'd say he could have a couple more years easily. But keep in mind that older rabbits can go downhill quickly and suddenly.

Because in the past, so few people actually knew how to take proper care of rabbits (improper diets, small cages, not spaying/neutering, no vet care, living oputdoors, etc) most rabbits did only got to live to 3-4 years so at one time it was average. But luckily now, people are learning more and taking better care of their pets. So congradulations on your excellent pet keeping skills :)

  2. Rabbits usually dont live that long, I had a dwarf bunny for ten years. We recently had to put him to sleep, not because he was sick but he kept having seizures, and his spinal cord was so old that one of the seizures just made his whole right side stop working. He couldnt move well or see or hear out of his right side, so we had to put him to sleep. Some can live very long but some just get so old that things stop working. Sometimes they die from unexpected things like fright or the weather, but if you take care of it im sure it'd live longer then you'd expect.
