  1. I don't know what the average is.  I think when speaking of income in America, people use the median because athletes and corporate ceo's throw off the average.  I think the median income is about $35,000.

  3. US GDP per capita is about $45,800. That's not precisely the same as "income" if you're using it in a wage sense. The arithmetic average net compensation in the US is about $37,000.

  4. The average wage for non supervisory workers is near the median wage and is about $39,000 a year  plus benefits. However most household have more than one earner so the median household income is higher. Here is data from 2005 and income  for most people has only increase with inflation since then or about 7%.
