Average monthly lease payment on a $6000 car?

Does value of the car affect monthly payment on a lease? If I get a car that is worth about $6,000, what might be an average lease payment per month for 3 to 4 months? (I might need to drive it about 1000 miles per month)

Thanks in advance.

  1. First, you can't lease cars for 3-4 months. Even used car leases start at 24 months. You should look at a "long-term" rental.

Contact smaller local car rental companies in your area becasue they generally have lower long-term rates than the big companies like Hertz or Avis who mainly cater to short-term rentals to traveling business people during the work week.

    Good luck.

  2. The monthly lease amount is determined by more factors than simply the dollar value.

The projected resale value at the end of the lease term has alot to do with how much the monthly payment will be too.

Often it's the most well-equipped cars that hold their value well that cost less per month to lease.  A well equipped Toyota or Honda will be less than a disposable Kia or Chrysler.

  3. Hello......when is the last time you saw a new car available for sale for $6,000. And also, there are NO 3 to 4 month leases available. In most cases, 24 months would be one of the shorter ones.

  4. Yes, the value affects the monthly payment. Also, your credit worthiness plays a big part in determining your payment.

I don't know you, your financial situation, or your credit history. I can't estimate an average lease payment.

Also, leasing a car is just silly. A car is a liability; assuming debt to acquire a liability is financially foolish and irresponsible.

Find a nice used car, and BUY it. You don't have to pay interest, and you can sell it when you're done with it. Owning is always better than renting, both immediately and in the long run. When you lease, you're throwing your money away.
