Average postage times from US to UK?

On Monday the 28th of July 2008 a rather large package was shipped from America to the UK (Its a Bearcat BCT996T police scanner) the tracking number just says my item left the us on Monday the 28th? So does that mean its now it the uk and i should get it soon

who will handle it Parcel Force or royal mail once it arrives in the uk ????

  1. It will probably be handled by Parcel Force (thats the Parcels limb of the Royal Mail Group), but depending on a few things, it may be handled by the Royal Mail proper.

    You may be able to type your parcel number into the Parcel Force website to see exactly where it is.

    However, I would also suspect that the Police Scanner is illegal in the UK, and so it may well have been siezed on arrival by UK Customs, who are present at all locations where International Mail arrives. If this is the case, you may receive a letter about it, advising you on any further action.


  2. I should think Customs & excise or police will handle it, and you may get a free holiday on her majesty. They are illegal in  UK
