Average price of living in Cairns???

Hi, could you please let me know the average price of everyday living e.g food shopping, hairdressers, bills stc. Thank you.

Personally for me, the Northern Beaches are the best.

So look at places to live like:

Yorkeys k**b

Trinity Beach

Kewarra Beach

Clifton Beach

Palm Cove

Public buses go to all these places and go right through into town.  By car 15-25 mins drive, bus longer of course.  All buses go via the University if you are studying.

I would avoid living in  Manunda or Manoora.

Power bill - comes 3 monthley, average $100 a month if using air conditioning, more for pool etc.  This is based on a small 3 bedroom house. (like mine)

Clothes - everything cheap at the mo, end of tax year sale, went to k-mart yesterday, most womens clothes $5 - $30 - heaps of bargins to pick up.  Hair cuts, there is a 'Just Cuts' salon in every mall, average price $24, less if you are a student or pensioner etc...

Phone - I pay $85 for landline phone and Broadband connection for up to 12 G downloads.  Then you have your long distance calls on top.

Mobile phone - you can pick them up from $50. sim cards $2 - depending what company.  eg:  At Coles you can get Telstra sim cards for $2, buy a cheap phone and away you go.  This is prepaid of course.
