Hello, i am currently preparing for an exam, and would like help with this question.

The disappearance of ozone follows the equation 2O3(g)-> 3O2(g). Over a certain time interval, the average rate of disappearance was found to be 9.0*10^-3 atm/s . what is the rate of appearance of O2 during the same time interval?

please show your work, i'd be greatly thankful for any help.

  1. 2 mol O3 produces 3 mol O2; 2 atm O3 produces 3 atm O2.

    9.0 x 10^-3 atm/s O3 x (3 atm O2 / 2 atm O3 ) = 1.35 x 10^-2 atm/s.
