  1. It really depends on your country as well as where you live in that country.More information, tips and help at

  2. This depends on where you live.  In places with a higher cost of living the salaries will be a little higher.

Starting salary for Civil engineers that just graduated from college is between $42k-$52k.  Don't expect getting a $52k starting salary unless you going to a high cost of living city or you have a lot of experience.

Average salary is between $50k to $68k for Professional Engineers (PE) that have their license.  You have to do 4 years as an engineer in training (EIT) working under a PE before you get your license, also you have to pass the PE exam after your four years.

Average salary for CE managers is $65k to $80k and if you have been there for awhile you might make $100k but I rarely see people make that unless they have been with the company for 20 years or live in a high cost of living area.

A word of warning though, Civil Engineers are the lowest paid engineers out there.  And the job market for Civil Engineers in the U.S. sucks unless you want to work for an oil company.  I know at least one company in Florida that has let go around 20 civil engineers over that past few months and a lot of civil engineering firms are not hiring.
