Average size snowboard?

Hi. im about 5'7. Im wondering if my snowboard is too small? What is the average size snowboard for someone my height? Thanks.

  1. Im about the same height and my board is a 148, though the "average" approximate height for a snowboard should be from the ground between your chin and top of head..


  2. I personally feel the board should more reflect your weight, and ability not your height. Example, the board can not "See" how tall you are, but it definitely reacts to your moves, and weight transfer.

    but generally someone who is 5-7 could ride anything from a 154-159 (arguably). If you are just starting out, try to stay on the lower side (154-155-156-157)

  3. The size board that will be right for you depends on your weight too.  Assuming you're average build your board will be somewhere between your collarbones and forehead.

    Length depends on your skill level and style of riding as well as weight.  Newer riders and park riders use shorter boards.  Alpine riders (just in the gnar and going really fast) use longer boards.
