Question:

Average weight for a certain height?

People have told me that the average weight for a 5'4" person is between 115-130 lbs.

This just doesn't seem right to me.

I'm 5'6" and I'm 130 lbs. and I'm a bit "chunkier" then most girls my height, but I'm not even considered average weight apparently?

I'm not saying I'm insecure about my weight or anything, I'm just wondering if I'm getting the wrong statistics from people.

It's been bugging me for a while.

  1. The average weight for a 5'4" female is 108-132, depending on her frame. For 5'6" it's 117-143.

You have to listen to your body.  If you feel like you want to drop a few pounds, that's fine. But if you're comfortable in your own skin, that's fine too.

Bless you and be happy.  :)

  2. It depends on the person's build and body type. Maybe you are small framed with not much muscle mass if you feel 'chunky' at 130lb.

  3. I'm 5'3" and my ideal weight is 130 lbs.  When i've weighed any less than that it was b/c I didn't eat at all (and obviously that's not healthy!).  The "charts" say that  a woman my height should weigh between 111  and 124.  If I were to weight that, i would be underweight.

The average weight doesn't mean you should be that weight.  The average is all the people they used in the study added together and then divided by the total number of people. this does not mean you should weight his amount.

The standards they used to go by are not healthy and are not followed by most people. There are many things that have to be taken into consideration, including breast size, muscle mass, bone size.  For example, a woman with size DD b*****s is going to weigh more than one with AA b*****s, someone with more muscle is going to weigh more than someone with less muscle.  It really depends on the person. So, it really doesn't matter.  As long as you're healthy and you're happy with your body.

really awesome site to help you out

  5. Your definetly not chunky.. they are all liars. Your a healthy weight.

  6. They say that at 5 feet you should be 100 pounds and every inch after that should be five pounds more... so, being five foot 5, your ideal weight would be 130lbs. Which is exactly what you are. =)

I think that the whole ''115-130 pounds for a 5'4" person" is incorrect, because I'm 5'8 and a half and I'm 119 lbs, putting me in the lower end of that range.

  7. no those are right...ur jsut on the end of the healthy weight

    but ur fine

it dont matter what is looks like thats what healthy is today the media thinks having disorders and being emaciated is pretty but rly it isnt but u could get down to 115 if u wanted to look slimer and still be healthy
