Averatec 5400 series laptop

Installed WinXP service pack 2, restarted, then installed Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 - tried to open main console of Trend Micro, and computer shut off. Checked power supply/cable and that was fine. Turned it on again, and it shut down before even loading WinXP. PLEASE HELP!!!
