Averatec laptop AV 3360-HOT

Question

Laptop gets very hot and now power cord does not hold consistant charge/contact with the computer. It is constantly toggling with in the plug in port and going from battery to elcetricity.
Sometimes when it the power source is going back and forth the computer starts opening and closing programs on its own and the cursor moves on its own.
New power cord or new computer? I don't want to loose my information as this is my business computer.
