Avery Bradley not returning to Celtics line-up anytime before December – NBA News
Boston Celtics rising shooting guard Avery Bradley is going to miss training camp which commences on Friday, and might not return till Late December.
Bradley fought through shoulder injury during the later part of the past season, and eventually had to sit out of the playoffs to get his shoulder operated. Later on in the summer, Bradley had to get his right shoulder operated
as well, blowing his chances of starting the season for the Celtics.
“Not even close, I don't like to put a time limit on injuries, but I don't think you'll see him before December. And there's a chance it could be closer to January,” said Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers while talking to ESPNBoston.com.
Bradley was one of the rising talents on the Celtics roster, who made a great impact at the shooting guard position in the absence of Ray Allen, when the veteran was sidelined with an ankle injury. He was hoping to be back for
training camp but it was later reported that Bradley would be out till December.
“For any athlete, especially me being a young athlete, it's hard for me to not to be able to wake up every day and play the game of basketball. It's hard for me. I just have to take it day by day and let my body heal itself,” said
Bradley.
The emergence of Bradley was one of the main reasons why the Celtics were not worried after Ray Allen decided to join the Miami Heat, even though they did offer him a new contract and more money than Miami.
Bradley made a name for himself, particularly on the defensive end, and along with Rajon Rondo formed a formidable back court for the Celtics. Boston do not need to worry about covering his spot in his absence when the season opens,
as they recruited Courtney Lee as well as Jason Terry during the summer. Both players are more than qualified of playing the two position, and Rivers has previously said that he will start with Lee and let Terry play his traditional role of 6th
man. And when Bradley returns, the Celtics are going to have a solid back court for the rest of the season.
