  1. I came across the same problem but got it sorted.

    1 - Start up AVG,click Update Now.

2 - The list of updates is shown in Popup, click on the more information link.A list of updates will be shown.

3 - Click on and save all updates in a file except the last one - http://downloadfree.avg.com/update/u7iav... - because this is causing the problem.

4 - Cancel the update and instead click on Tools > Update from Directory and go to the file where you saved the updates.Install these and AVG should be working properly again.

  2. I had the same thing happen to me this afternoon. I didn't try the reboot suggestion, but what I did was go to the AVG website and downloaded the updates that came out today (Aug 16th) and did a manual install. On the AVG program interface go to Tools and then Update from Directory. Fixed my problem.

  3. I have the same problem with my AVG I shut my computer down and when I restarted the message was gone. And says I am protected now. So just try shutting your computer down. I don't know what a .bin file is either.

  4. You could fix this issue by reinstalling the AVG.

If you have issues to do, then do a System Restore on the computer and then install AVG again. Your computer will be secured then.
